It has been the summer of football for me with the Euros and Copa América dominating my television screen. I was honored to join
and others to share our highs and lows of Euro 2024 in an article published a couple days ago.Spain and England will be playing in the Euro final this Sunday (tomorrow). Spain has been the best team since the start of the tournament and is the only team in the competition to not drop a point. Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams have been the most exciting winger partnership at Euro 2024. And at the tender ages of 16 (!) and 21 (though they did both just have birthdays yesterday and today), they will be tearing up defenses for years to come.
England hasn’t been able to put together a quality 90 minutes the whole tournament, yet they have snuck through each knockout stage match right at the end.
My brain says Spain will win (I originally picked them in the article above), but my heart wants the sappy narrative…Well, why not?
